ABS

3D Printing in ABS

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) is a tough, impact-resistant thermoplastic widely used for engineering applications, consumer products, and enclosures. Known for its balance of strength and rigidity, ABS is ideal for parts that need to withstand mechanical stress, elevated temperatures, or everyday wear and tear.

Although only slightly more costly than PLA, ABS offers a significant step up in performance, making it well suited for functional parts, mechanical assemblies, and field-ready prototypes.

ABS Summary

Choose ABS for strong, durable parts designed to withstand real-world use

ABS is an engineering-grade material that delivers excellent strength, dimensional stability, and thermal resistance. It’s a dependable choice for functional parts that need to perform under load or elevated temperatures, such as fixtures, casings, and structural components.

ABS Material Properties

ABS is ideal for medium- to high-strength applications where toughness and heat resistance are required. It can handle more demanding environments than PLA, and maintains performance over a broader temperature range.

ABS is a versatile choice for mechanical housings, brackets, tools, and other load-bearing parts that must hold their shape under pressure. It remains cost-effective for production runs and large functional prototypes.
